Serious Cat Urine
If you have a serious cat urine problem with your cat urinating in the house there are behavioral techniques you can use to amend the problem. If your cat is constantly urinating in your home there is probably some stimulus there causing his behavior. For instance, if you have recently moved into an older home and your previously housebroken cat starts urinating indoors, you might be facing a cat urine residue situation.
A short term solution is to clean up after your cat but in the long term you need to change your cats behavior so they don't associate your house with a place they can urinate. Here are a few steps to follow to train your dog not to urinate in the house.
Step 1: Try to find why your cat is urinating where he is.
Have you recently moved and did the previous owner have a cat that urinated in the same place?
Have you purchased a new item of furniture or plant that your cat does not like the smell of?
Step 2: Get rid of the offending item or clean the area thoroughly
If you find that your cat is associating an item with urinating in the house try and get rid of it. Clean the area thoroughly with a good cat urine cleaning product.
Step 3: Combat your cats behavior by changing it.
If your cat has associated an item with urinating indoors where possible move that item outside where the cat should be going.
